If you're like me, you're probably iPadded out about now. Apple just announced the new iPad3 and the hype will go into high gear now as if there wasn't enough speculation earlier. So I'd thought I'd sit for a bit with my Acer A100 and let you know something more about my experience.
First, I'm pretty happy with my choice. I have just WiFi and no "G" of any sort. That's because I just can't see paying the bill and most of the places where I use the thing have WiFi. Yeah, I know it's not very geeky, but the M's the reality of the situation.
I also have only purchased a single thing for it -- app, music, or book. That's a NAS Bible. All the other things were installed or free. I'm not particularly adverse to buying something, I just haven't found anything worth the cost yet. I like to have a use for software before I buy it, not the other way around.
I have said before that I'm a Microsoft OneNote fan. I downloaded the free version and have used it some. I'm a bit disappointed in it, but am willing to give it some time and upgrades before I cut it loose. The fact that I can share things between machines might mean that I keep it even if it isn't all that great on the tablet. We'll see.
I also loaded Evernote and am comparing the two. I don't think I'll become a fan of the program, but I'm willing to give it a chance, too. Evernote provides an email address which accepts notes so I'll see if that makes it worth keeping.
<p>Another app I like is News360. I'll have a more thorough evaluation later, but so far it's a pretty nifty news aggregator app. I like the fact that you can get the same story from multiple sources, including Twitter. You can also tweet about things from it, but I'm not sure I want to give the app that much control. Again more about this as I use the app more.
That's all for now. More to come.
